This research proposal came from a place of wanting to understand the role the low socioeconomic status plays in education success. For this research, an interpreivist/constructivist approach could be applied to identify common themes among the participants. This would allow the research to be told from the lens of the participants and share their real life experiences. Through this research, I was able to build upon the paradigm used in EDUC-636 completed earlier in the program. This shows that my thinking has evolved past student centered learning, student centered research to help better inform my practice.

This proposal highlights the need for educators to understand how socioeconomic status affects educational success and what we can do to bridge this gap. By understanding what the root of this issue is, as educators, we can better inform our practices and approaches within the classroom.
